Cboe Global Markets appointed Craig S. Donohue as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective May 7, 2025. Donohue, a veteran with over 30 years in global derivatives markets, previously served as CEO of CME Group and later as Chairman of OCC. His leadership is expected to steer Cboe through evolving market dynamics.
The transition marks a strategic shift for the exchange giant, with outgoing CEO Fredric Tomczyk retaining a board seat. Donohue’s extensive clearinghouse experience at OCC positions him to navigate increasing institutional crypto derivatives demand.
